Of the 8.8 million child deaths in 2008, 1 in 5 of them were due to pneumonia, one of the most solvable problems in global health.
Approximately half of children with pneumonia are reportedly taken to health care providers in developing countries. Children, families, and their communities lack accesible, basic health products and maternal care education.
