Nokia Social Innovation Lab

A few weeks ago, our co-founder Becky Straw was invited to speak in London at Nokia’s Social Innovation Lab. We know, she’s such a rockstar. (She’s also speaking at the UN today for International Women’s Day!)

Stoves For Haiti - We did it! Thanks, everyone!

We just want to say thank you so much to our supporters in the #StovesForHaiti campaign, which was launched on January 12th to remember Haiti.

We officially ended the campaign this past week (even though donations are still rolling in!), and are excited to say that on our last day, January 31st, we broke our $20,000 goal!

Many, many thanks to all of you who spread the word, raised funds, and sponsored a stove yourself. We could not have done it without your efforts. Thank you for supporting The Adventure Project, and even more thanks for bringing over 1,000 families these revolutionary cookstoves.

And if you’re still interested in giving or having your community give, feel free to do so through the campaign page or through our website at TheAdventureProject.org.

Our partner KickStart named among “Top 100 Best NGOs”!

Last month, our partners at KickStart were listed in Forbe’s Impact 30.

We’re proud to announce them as a top NGO again — but this time in the renowned publication The Global Journal as one of the "Top 100 Best NGOs In The World." It is the first international NGO ranking of its kind, seeking to honor top organizations that exhibit “the power of a great idea, well-executed.”

KickStart was cited for “changing the way the world fights poverty by bringing together the transformative power of technology, the entrepreneurial spirit of the impoverished, and the sustainability of the marketplace and private sector.”

To support the amazing efforts of KickStart or to learn more about how they’re using technology and entrepreneurship to help eliminate poverty in Africa, visit The Adventure Project’s Hunger Program.
