Meet Courtney Cassada of Ashburn, VA.

She’s been a champion of our efforts to provide clean water for families in India.

After getting pumped for World Water Day, Courtney set up a fundraising page for her family to provide the opportunity for their friends to join in making an impact. Their goal was to raise enough money to hire and train one mechanic (who would go on to maintain 50 wells that provided clean water to 5,000 people). But through her fundraising ideas, she was able to double that and raise enough to hire and train two mechanics. Clean water for 10,000 people. And maybe more still.

Courtney’s Water Fundraiser offers 3 ways for her family to reach their goal:
1) Simply give.
2) Buy the most delicious chocolate chip cookies. She’ll bake them and mail them anywhere in the United States.
3) Water shirts — adult and child sizes! The shirts have cute water drops on them in fun color combinations. Not only are they awesome, but they’ll spur some great conversation.

Check out more adorable photos of her kids in the water shirts.

Courtney believes that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy good health, which can start by simply having reliable access to clean drinking water. To learn more about our sustainable water projects in India, go to www.theadventureproject.org.

And help support Courtney in hiring even more well mechanics!

Two women in a rural community in India are able to walk right outside of their homes to get clean water whenever they need it, thanks to a trained local mechanic who fixes the well and maintains it regularly.

Clean water is essential for good health, as it is used for drinking, cooking, bathing, and washing. Access to clean water also increases efficiency and productivity for many people and helps boost local economies.
