Happy April 25th. Break out those light jackets!

HANDSAWS, HAMMERS, & DINOSAURS!

If you love any of those, then you’ll love Wednesday night.

On July 18th, we’ll be gathering at Littlefield in Brooklyn (click to view map), a 1920s warehouse turned into an event space.

We’ll basically be drinking free drinks, enjoying free oysters, AND building a giant dinosaur. How amazing does your Wednesday night sound now?

The only catch is…

You need to attend. So be sure to RSVP on Facebook and pick up an advance ticket.

The Deets:

Will there be drinks?
Of course. Our friends at Breuckelen Distillery are providing FREE cocktails, and Brooklyn Homebrew’s bringing some of their latest batch for us to sample. (Sweet.)

And if delicious local drinks aren’t your thing, there’s also a full cash bar.

Will there really be an oyster shucking station?

Who told you? Our friends at Littleneck are going to be teaching you to shuck oysters (while supplies last). Those are FREE too.

What do you mean by building a dinosaur?
We have a wood artist and a furniture builder who are drafting up plans for two dinosaur statues that they’re going to be building out of reclaimed wood throughout the evening.

What are you going to do with them?
Auction them off.
We’ll let them live at Littlefield for a month as an installation so people can bid - all proceeds from the dinos are going to The Adventure Project. (Of course.)

Where do I come in then?
This is an interactive display, just jump in.
The builders will be there to direct and instruct.

What if I have no clue what I’m doing?
Then we’re jealous. Those are the best times.

You know this is ridiculous right?
Wrong. It’s fun, which is good for you.

So, we’ll see you all at Littlefield on Wednesday night!

We have two fabulous featured Well Mechanic Club members today: Kelsey and Mark Ellis of Olympia, WA.

Last Friday, Mark and Kelsey hosted a dinner party at their home. Kelsey prepared her favorite recipes, used her best china, and sold tickets on her fundraising page for $25.

The couple’s goal is to fund one well mechanic in India who will keep clean water flowing for 5,000 people.

We love these fun and creative fundraisers (especially any involving food)! Hope you all are inspired by our Well Mechanics Club members too. To learn more about the group, check out our Pinterest board!

And to learn more about The Adventure Project’s mission of providing clean water for nearly 1 million people, visit our website: www.theadventureproject.org

Meg Duerksen is the second highest fundraiser of our water campaign thus far!

How did she do it?
Meg has an awesome and very popular blog about her life, her family, photography, art, and design. It’s pretty fun and fantastic, and we recommend you go look at her recent photos of cows and chicken (or maybe we’re just fascinated because we don’t really have those here in NYC)

Using her blog as a call-to-action platform, Meg promoted the clean water campaign. She included an entry for fun giveaway baskets for everyone who donated to her page.

What were the results?
She has raised $2,740! And probably gave away a ton of great, crafty items.
In essence, Meg and her network of phenomenal supporters came together to hire and train 4 well mechanics in India, providing clean water for 20,000 people.

Why we love this?
It was fun, engaging, and Meg used what she already had in order to make a huge splash on World Water Day: her blog, her large following, and her crafty ideas and great photography. You don’t always need to come up with brand new ways to raise money and engage your friends. Use what you have — it clearly can go a long way!
